Liverpool are preparing to move on from Alexander Isak as Newcastle United continue to make a deal difficult. They’ve got a world-class alternative lined up.
Liverpool remain eager to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United. The closer we get to the transfer deadline, however, the more difficult that feels.
The Magpies need to sign a replacement, basically. Newcastle only have one recognised centre-forward as it is - and he's refusing to play.

Sell Isak and they've got no one, leaving Liverpool convinced that no deal can happen until they find that striker. Finding that striker, however, has become comical.
Newcastle have been rejected again and again, both by players and clubs. Their latest attempt is to sign Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolves but they've seen two bids turned down.
For some perspective on that, they're currently offering £55m for Strand Larsen, who wasn't actually on their shortlist when the window opened. And even with that they're currently failing.
It will only get more difficult to sign a striker as the clock ticks down. Liverpool are watching on, realising that their chances of landing Isak are diminishing.
Which is why they've reportedly turned their attention elsewhere - just in case.
GiveMeSport claims Liverpool are now considering a late move for Rodrygo Goes. The Brazilian is available to buy from Real Madrid, with at least two other clubs looking at him.
Rodrygo has been linked with both Arsenal and Manchester City this summer, with links to Liverpool just as strong. No one has actually found themselves in a position to bid, however.
Well, the Isak situation may put Liverpool in that position. The suggestion from GMS is that the Reds have a deadline-day move in mind, should it become too risky to wait on the Swede.
