Liverpool are pushing to sign highly-rated Lille centre-back Leny Yoro (18) according to a report this Saturday from Gianluca Di Marzio. The French U21 international is expected to depart Les Dogues on the back of a break-through season with Paulo Fonseca’s side. Three days ago, Le Parisien reported that the Reds have entered the race to sign the 18-year-old prospect. Real Madrid, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be in the running for Yoro, although Les Parisiens have reportedly lost ground to their European rivals.

The Italian journalist understands that Liverpool have entered “in force” in the race to Yoro’s signing. Leny Yoro is the youngest ever Lille player to start a Ligue 1 game at 16, two years ago. He was one of Ligue 1’s best centre-backs this season, earning a spot in the league’s best XI. The Ligue 1 club are set to look for a fee in the region of €90m. Given Lille have no insurance to play in the Champions League next season – they will have to play two qualifying rounds – Les Dogues may have to sell one of their most prized assets.
