Over the last few days, the rumors of Paris Saint-Germain securing Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman have surfaced. Nonetheless, Liverpool could be plotting a swoop of the player in the last few days of the summer window to bolster their attack.

A recent report revealed that Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United have all been linked to the Nigerian forward. However, the Parisians have reportedly stepped up their efforts to secure the player over the last few days.

Still, journalist Matteo Moretto reports that the Atalanta standout’s arrival to the French capital is getting colder. Moretto adds that the French club haven’t made any formal offer in writing to Atalanta.

Recent verbal discussions have shown that there’s still a significant gap between what each side is looking for. As a result, any disagreement over a transfer fee opens the door for a rival club to swoop in and land Lookman.

According to journalist Graeme Bailey (h/t TEAMTalk), Liverpool is eyeing a bold move for Lookman. At the start of the summer, the Reds contacted his team to stay updated on his situation.

With PSG now showing interest in the Nigerian star, Liverpool might intensify their efforts to secure him, not wanting to miss out. Arsenal are also interested but are currently just monitoring the situation.

Lookman has been with Atalanta since 2022, making 45 appearances last season. The 26-year-old had an impressive campaign, netting 17 goals and providing 10 assists with his standout moment coming in the UEFA Europa League final, where he scored a hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen.
