Liverpool center back Ibrahima Konaté has yet to agree to a contract extension this summer, sparking speculation over his future. Furthermore, PSG and Real Madrid are both pursuing the defender.
According to Diario AS, Real Madrid’s interest may hinge on Liverpool lowering their asking price. The Spanish club reportedly values Konaté at €20 million to €25 million, while Liverpool are holding out for closer to €50 million.
Konaté is reportedly open to a move, but Real Madrid may wait until 2026, when he could leave on a free transfer.
Foot Mercato recently reported that Konaté has been offered to several top European clubs—including PSG, Real Madrid, and Barcelona—boosting the likelihood of a move once his contract expires.

Defensa Central writes that selling Rodrygo at €100 million in the final days of the summer transfer window could allow Real Madrid to land Konaté. With questions over Éder Militão’s consistency and Antonio Rüdiger’s age, the Frenchman is emerging as the perfect long-term solution.
Liverpool could demand up to €50 million, but Real Madrid expects the player to be available on a free transfer in 2026, giving them the chance to negotiate a lower fee if they complete Rodrygo’s sale.
