Liverpool midfielder’s father responds to Real Madrid rumours – ‘He’s under contract’ | OneFootball

As Real Madrid gear up for a busy summer, which could see them bring in multiple players, Alexis Mac Allister has been one of the names linked with a move to the Bernabeu.

The Liverpool star has reportedly emerged as an ideal option for Real Madrid in their quest to reinforce their ranks in the midfield unit, with the club now ready to move on from their previous top target, Martin Zubimendi.

Mac Allister’s father addresses Real Madrid rumours

As speculation over Mac Allister’s future continue to rumble, his father has come out with a statement, addressing the player’s future and recent links to Real Madrid.

“Nothing to comment. Alexis is very happy at Liverpool, he’s under contract and wants to win there,” his father said (h/t Fabrizio Romano).

This is quite a diplomatic statement from Mac Allister’s father, who appears to be keen on not breaking the player’s relationship with Liverpool by fuelling unnecessary rumours.

“It’s important to respect the club he’s playing for, any comment from us would be unnecessary,” he added.

Mac Allister is indeed contracted to Liverpool until 2028, having joined the club in a €42 million move in the summer of 2023.

During his two-year spell at Anfield, the Argentine has racked up almost 100 competitive appearances, impressing onlookers with his work-ethic and technical prowess in the middle of the park.

The midfielder is also a regular with the Argentine national team. His experience, coupled with his technical ability has made him a top target for Real Madrid.

However, it appears the player has no desire to indulge in frivolous rumorus and is quite happy at Liverpool. Therefore, unless Real Madrid show concrete interest and come up with an interest proposal, it is unlikely Mac Allister would like to leave Anfield anytime soon.
