Liverpool ‘confident’ of double deadline day deal | OneFootball

Liverpool are confident of finalising deadline day deals for Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi and Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.

Isak is undergoing a medical at Liverpool after an agreement was reached on a £125m British transfer record deal. The Swedish striker has pushed for a move to Liverpool this summer and it is expected to be completed before the 7pm deadline.

Liverpool are also confident the club will sign Guehi, according to journalist Ben Jacobs. The Reds have held talks with Crystal Palace over a transfer worth in the region of £30m.

Guehi has just 12 months to run on his contract at Selhurst Park and has informed the Eagles of his desire to move to Merseyside.

Any deal will hinge on Palace’s ability to sign a replacement, while the arrival of Guehi could pave the path for Liverpool defender Joe Gomez to join AC Milan.

Should a fee be agreed with Palace, Guehi’s medical will take place in London to accelerate developments.
