In a recent report, The Evening Standard revealed that Liverpool are eyeing a dream move for Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak. It has been stated that the Reds are showing interest in acquiring the services of the Sweden international this summer.

Isak’s Impressive Run Of Form In The Premier League

Isak enjoyed a rich vein of form at Newcastle in the previous campaign when he produced a lot of productive displays for them in the Premier League. The Swedish striker played in 42 matches for the Magpies last season, scoring 27 times and securing six assists in multiple competitions.

The 25-year-old was not shy of having a strike at goal based on his average of 3.1 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He kept 43.2% of his attempts on target. Isak even distributed possession relatively well in the opponent’s half, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 75.3% in the top tier of English football (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the Tyneside club will run out in the summer of 2028. Thus, Liverpool would have to pay a big fee if they want to lure him to Anfield this off-season.

Isak excels at finding a yard of space for himself to get some shots in at goal. He has proven himself to be a lethal finisher in the final third and has got the vision to create the odd chance for his teammates to score.

The Swedish talent is also quite clever with his movements in and around the opposition penalty area. Standing at 1.92m, he is a strong presence in the air as well.
