Liverpool agree initial £100m fee for Wirtz

Liverpool will pay Bayer Leverkusen an initial £100 million to sign Florian Wirtz according to reports.

Various journalists have released the numbers for the upcoming transfer of the highly-rated German to the Premier League champions this summer.

The Reds will pay an initial £100m for the 22-year-old (who already has 31 caps for his country) with a further £16m to be paid out on bonuses based on the club's future success.

Liverpool's signing of Wirtz, which is expected to be completed shortly, is something of a coup with Bayern Munich and Manchester City also strongly linked with the player.

Wirtz played 45 times for Leverkusen this season, scoring 16 and assisting 14 in all competitions. He was also a vital part of the team that lifted the Bundesliga in the 2023/24 season.
