Following Real Madrid’s win over Atletico Madrid last night, the club have sealed a place in the Champions League quarterfinals, where they will take on Arsenal.
The Gunners could pose a significantly tougher challenge than Atletico, considering their squad strength which is coupled with their defensive solidity under Mikel Arteta.
That said, Real Madrid could be helped by the fact that Arsenal may miss a host of their star players heading into this quarterfinal encounter.
A recent report from Mundo Deportivo has offered a comprehensive update on Arsenal’s team news, even though the Gunners will take on Real Madrid until next month.
As per the report, Arsenal are set to be without the services of key attacking duo Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus for the first leg of the UCL quarter-finals through injuries.
Havertz’s absence could be a real blow as the German is the club’s top goalscorer this season with 15 goals. Gabriel, too, has netted seven goals this term.

Apart from these two, Bukayo Saka has been out since December. However, there is a growing optimism that he will return by April. Arsenal, therefore, will be hopeful of having the Englishman back in action before the Real Madrid clash.
Takehiro Tomiyasu rounds up the injury list for Arsenal, with the Japanese international out due to a knee injury.
Aside from injuries, Arsenal are set to miss out on the services of Raheem Sterling due to suspension as the former Man City winger picked up a yellow card against PSV Eindhoven at the last minute.
Jurrien Timber and Gabriel Martinelli, meanwhile, are sitting on two yellow cards and could miss the second leg if they pick up a booking in the first leg clash against Real Madrid.
