New striker Liam Delap grabbed his first goal for the club over night and it is what you’d call a proper strikers goal.
Chelsea beat ES Tunis 3-0 over night in the Club World Cup in America after Blues head coach Enzo Maresca named a rotated starting Xl to rest a few players.
Chelsea needed to avoid a defeat to progress to the knockout rounds of the competition, and they did that with ease in the end against an opposition that they were just much better than in terms of quality.
Marc Cucurella got a deserved rest in the game, with Josh Acheampong starting at left back instead, but before the game, the Spanish international was expecting another tough game. But it was far from that for Chelsea in the end.
Nicolas Jackson had to watch on from the stands due to being sent off in Chelsea’s last Club World Cup game, meaning he handed the striker keys to Liam Delap from the off.

The former Ipswich Town striker put in what was the epitome of a perfect number 9 performance, exactly what he was bought in to do at the club.
And carrying on from that, his goal and how he took it was a fine strikers goal. As you can see in the video here, Delap collected the ball, was strong to muscle the defender off, skipped it inside and curled a lovely little controlled shot into the corner of the goal.
Chelsea fans will be hoping to see much more of this from Delap who looks like he could be a bit of a difference maker up top for Chelsea this coming season.
