Leroy Sane says he is only thinking about his future at Bayern Munich despite links with a return to the Premier League.

The Germany international joined the German giants in 2020 after winning two titles in England with Manchester City.

However, while he was previously a regular starter in Bavaria after leaving the Cityzens, Sane has been favoured less by current manager Vincent Kompany in 2024/25 so far. The 28-year-old has started just twice in all competitions for Bayern this season, with fellow attackers Michael Olise, Jamal Musiala and Kingsley Coman preferred out wide.

His contract expires at the end of the campaign and recent speculation has suggested Sane could return to the Premier League, with Manchester United and Arsenal reportedly keeping tabs on the situation.

He told BILD: "I feel really comfortable, the discussions with Vinni [Kompany], Max Eberl and Christoph Freund are very good and trusting. So my thoughts are currently only with Bayern, we will see everything else in the next few weeks and months.

"I feel comfortable at the club and in the dressing room. What matters to me is that I am an important part of Bayern's plans and I want to confirm this role.

"Generally, my top priority is not how much I earn. To be honest, I haven't thought about it for a second. As I said, it's about the whole package. What is my position? How does the club see me? What is the playing philosophy? Can we achieve something big together like winning the Champions League? Those are the things that are important to me first and foremost."

While he has undoubtedly had less game time than he would have liked by this point, Sane insisted he and his squad are enjoying themselves under the leadership of Kompany, his former teammate at Man City.

He added: "We both actually know each other well. Under Vinni we play a good offensive style of football. We have fun on the pitch under his leadership, that is important to me and of course plays a role in my decision, of course."
