According to The Athletic, Lens manager Franck Haise could emerge as an unlikely candidate to replace the departing Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool this summer.
As is customary under Fenway Sports Group’s ownership of the club, Liverpool are set to adopt a data-driven approach when collating a list of candidates to replace Jurgen Klopp when he leaves Anfield at the end of the season. This task will be led by the club’s director of research – Will Spearman.
Unsurprisingly, Xabi Alonso, Rúben Amorim and Julien Nagelsmann have all received high ratings when it comes to the data. However, Franck Haise is another name who has scored high on the data-driven approach Liverpool are carrying out in their search to replace Jurgen Klopp, according to The Athletic.
The Lens coach has impressed since he led Lens to Ligue 1 promotion in 2020. Haise was responsible for masterminding Les Sang et Or to a second-place finish in the French top flight last season and securing Champions League qualification last season. Despite the French manager’s impressive performance at Lens, Haise is seen as an outside shout to make the Reds’ final shortlist.
As reported by Foot Mercato, Xabi Alonso has been named as Liverpool’s priority target to replace Klopp. The Premier League club have already made contact with the Bayer Leverkusen manager but are set to face competition from Bayern Munich for the Spaniard’s services in the summer.
