RB Leipzig are open to negotiations with Manchester United if they receive a fee in the region of €70m (£60.6M) for Benjamin Sesko.
Sesko has been linked with an exit from Leipzig all summer with Arsenal having held talks over a potential deal. The Gunners have since turned their attention to Viktor Gyokeres, with a deal agreed with Sporting Lisbon.
Arsenal’s stance has opened up the race for Sesko and Manchester United are among the player’s admirers. Ruben Amorim next wants to bring in a centre-forward, after completing the transfers of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
United were the fifth-lowest scorers in the Premier League last season and Amorim wants an athletic forward to complement his new-look attacking options.
Sesko has shunned interest from the Saudi Pro League with the 22-year-old keen on a move to England. German outlet BILD are now reporting that Leipzig will open negotiations for a fee in the region of £60.6m.
The Slovenia international is regarded as one of Europe’s most promising u-23 forwards. He has scored 39 goals in 87 games for Leipzig since arriving from Red Bull Salzburg in 2023.
Last season, he scored 13 goals in the Bundesliga despite a disappointing campaign for Leipzig. The forward is now open to an exit after Leipzig missed out on European football.
Sesko is one of several options that Manchester United are considering, alongside Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins and Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson.
However, sales may be required to finance a deal for any of those targets. United are currently working to offload Antony, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia.
