Leicester City have confirmed the arrival of centre-back Caleb Okoli from Serie A side Atalanta.

The Foxes, who were promoted back to the Premier League at the first time of asking, have shelled out a fee of around 15m euros (£12.6m) for the centre-back, who spent last season on loan with Frosinone but was contracted to Bergamo outfit Atalanta.

He appeared 37 times last season, but could not prevent Frosinone from being relegated to Serie B despite impressing at the heart of their defence.

Though not yet official, the club have accidentally leaked the defender's first interview with the club on their Youtube channel, before it was swiftly deleted.

“I’m very happy with the choice I made, so I’m very excited to start in the Premier League. Now I’m here in Leicester I’m feeling ready to start with my new team”, Okoli told the in-house media team.

The 22-year-old has penned a five year deal at the King Power Stadium, and becomes Steve Cooper's second signing of the summer following the arrival of Michael Golding from Chelsea.
