Leeds United and Everton meet at Elland Road on Monday night in a compelling Premier League encounter. The fixture pits Daniel Farke’s newly promoted side against a refreshed Everton team managed by David Moyes.
Leeds, back in the top flight after a dominant Championship campaign, will look to make a strong start. Meanwhile, Everton – bolstered by strategic summer signings – aim to climb the table and distance themselves from recent relegation fears.
This match revives a classic English fixture. It promises a physical, high-energy clash as Leeds’ attacking flair meets Everton’s organised resilience in what could be a tone-setter for both clubs’ seasons. Leeds are unbeaten in their last four home league games against the Toffees.

Daniel Farke could hand competitive debuts to several summer arrivals. Midfielder Sean Longstaff adds Premier League experience, while Anton Stach further reinforces the engine room.
However, the manager’s defensive plans are disrupted by injuries to Jayden Bogle (ankle) and Sebastiaan Bornauw (hamstring), alongside Jaka Bijol’s suspenion. The latter’s dismissal for Udiense in Serie A last season carries over into the new campaign.
The main talking point, though, will be up front. High-profile signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin make his debut against his former club.
David Moyes is expected to hand an immediate debut to star signing Jack Grealish, who will be tasked with providing creativity from the wing. In midfield, the energetic Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall will play a key role alongside the experienced Idrissa Gana Gueye.
In defence, though, Moyes has selection problems. Jarrad Branthwaite has been ruled out with a hamstring injury, while Vitalii Mykolenko is battling for fitness.
Daniel Farke’s side will be full of confidence after an impressive pre-season that saw them record victories over strong European opposition. They will be looking to carry that momentum into the new campaign and build on their dominant promotion season.
In contrast, Everton’s pre-season was a mixed affair. While David Moyes’ men looked defensively solid, a lack of goals was a recurring issue. Consequently, finding a cutting edge in attack will be a key priority as they look to improve on last season’s finish.
Leeds United predicted XI: Perri; Byram, Rodon, Struijk, Gudmundsson; Tanaka, Stach, Ampadu; James, Gnonto, Piroe.
Everton predicted XI: Pickford; O’Brien, Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko; Gueye, Garner, Dewsbury-Hall; Grealish, Beto, Ndiaye.
The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League in the UK. Coverage begins at 7:30pm BST, and subscribers can also stream the action live via the Sky Go app.
