Leeds United midfielder Josuha Guilavogui is set to remain at Elland Road to fight for his place, despite interest from French outfit Paris FC, according to RMC Sport.

The 34-year-old former French international was brought to Yorkshire as a back up player earlier this season but has barely kicked a ball, registering only 48 minutes of action across 10 Championship games.

Although highly thought of at the club, the midfielder has grown frustrated by a lack of gametime in recent weeks, with his only start this season coming in an FA Cup third round victory over Harrogate Town.

Due to such a lack of playing time, Guilavogui has been linked with a move away from the Whites during the January transfer window, as his contract at Elland Road is due to expire at the end of the campaign.

Interest has emerged from a Ligue 2 side in France, and the latest report from French outlet RMC Sport has clarified what Guilavogui’s future looks like beyond January.

According to RMC Sport, French side Paris FC have considered pursuing a deal for Josuha Guilavogui, with the outfit keen to make some winter additions. The report also suggests that Paris FC have previously contacted Leeds over a move.

Despite making an approach, the report also states that the 34-year-old isn’t a “priority signing for Paris FC”, and the club won’t be forced into making any panic buys during the remaining two weeks of the window.

Despite these developments, it now appears Paris FC will not continue their pursuit of the Frenchman and will look at alternative targets.

Meanwhile, in Yorkshire, Whites boss Daniel Farke is reportedly keen on holding on to the experienced midfielder, as he is impressed with his experience in the dressing room and versatility by providing cover in numerous positions.

With the relentless nature of the second half of the Championship season heading Leeds’ way, Guilavogui will be hopeful of securing more minutes off the bench and gaining a few starts in between to add fresh legs to the group to maintain a promotion charge back to the Premier League.
