Denmark’s Bold reports that Leeds United have held concrete talks with Mainz 05 head coach Bo Henriksen about potentially joining the EFL Championship side. The West Yorkshire club are apparently considering ditching current German head coach Daniel Farke ahead of their promotion to the Premier League and bringing in the Bundesliga man.

There are apparently doubts as to whether Farke may be the right man to coach Leeds in the English top flight. Henriksen himself has been linked with moves to numerous German clubs, but few German sources lend credence such reports. Henriksen’s enthusiast commitment to the Rheinhessen renders him likely to remain put.

Mainz themselves snapped a seven-match winless run in the Bundesliga last weekend, emphatically relegating VfL Bochum with a 1-4 away win. The victory leaves the Palatinate side in sixth place on 51 points with one matchday remaining. Mainz maintain an excellent chance of qualifying for European football next season after the result.

A concrete offer to coach in the EPL could nevertheless shift Henriksen’s calculus.
