Leeds United are interested in signing Angers SCO midfielder Himad Abdelli, according to Sacha Tavolieri.

The Peacocks are preparing for life back in the Premier League and are looking to significantly strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.

Leeds have been active in the summer transfer market. They were in the mix to sign RC Strasbourg star Habib Diarra and even submitted a £30 million bid.

However, the midfielder chose to join Sunderland ahead of the Championship winners.

Refusing to lick their wounds, Leeds have moved on to other targets and are now seriously considering bringing Abdelli to Elland Road after his standout campaign in Ligue 1.

The 25-year-old was impressive last season, notching six goals and an assist to help Angers finish 14th in the French top flight.

He also created five big chances, but his nimble footwork was particularly eye-catching.

Abdelli turned heads with his composure, flair, and ability to control games from the middle of the park.

Leeds see him as a player who can offer much more than just creativity. He’s someone who can bring balance, unpredictability, and an attacking edge to Daniel Farke’s side.

Leeds are desperate not to become a ‘yo-yo’ club. The club’s hierarchy are determined to avoid a repeat of their last top-flight relegation.

So far, they’re sparing no expense to build Farke a team that can compete in the Premier League.

Abdelli is heading into the prime years of his career. A move to the Premier League will give him a platform to show what he can do on a much bigger stage.

He has the technical quality and ability to glide past defenders, and Leeds will be hoping he can replicate that form in the Premier League.

However, they’d need to move fast to wrap up a deal. According to Tavolieri, Torino and Trabzonspor are also interested and are both ahead of Leeds in the race.

Abdelli could be a shrewd acquisition for Leeds, and it is believed that a fee of around £10m could be enough to strike a deal.
