Lazio are struggling to find an agreement to sign former Inter Milan midfielder Cesare Casadei from Chelsea.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that Torino and Monaco are also eyeing up a deal for the 22-year-old.
Casadei left Italian football in the summer of 2022. He joined Chelsea from Inter for a significant fee, despite having not made an appearance for the Nerazzurri’s first team.
However, Casadei has never really established a place for himself at Stamford Bridge.
Therefore, there is a strong sense that it is time for the young midfielder to leave.
A number of teams in Serie A have shown an interest in Casadei’s signature.
And Lazio are serious about trying to sign the 22-year-old.
However, the Corriere note, an agreement with Chelsea has proven hard to find for the Biancocelesti.
The newspaper report that Lazio are offering €13 million. Chelsea, meanwhile, are holding out for €15 million, right around what they paid Inter in 2022.
Then, there is the question of a loan formula for the deal. Ironing out the details has proven tricky for the two clubs.
According to the Corriere, therefore, Torino and Monaco remain very much in the race to sign Casadei.
