Lazio are reportedly aiming to strengthen their full-back department in the summer, and one of their options could be Omar Traore.
The Biancocelesti hit the jackpot by signing Nuno Tavares from Arsenal last summer, but the rest of the department doesn’t inspire much confidence. Luca Pellegrini has recently been omitted as Marco Baroni didn’t like his attitude in training, so the versatile Elseid Hysaj was reinstated.
On the right side, Manuel Lazzari has had his physical problems, while Adam Marusic is alternating between solid displays and shaky ones. And with both players on the wrong side of 30, the club could do with a younger profile.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), the Aquile have identified Traore as a potential option for right-back. The 27-year-old is a German native with Togolese origins. He started his career at his hometown club of Osnabrück and then went on to represent several clubs before signing for Heideheim in 2023 following their historic promotion to the Bundesliga.
Last season, he helped the club secure a remarkable eighth place in the table and earn a sensational qualification for the UEFA Conference League. This term, the full-back has made 29 appearances for the club in all competitions, registering two assists in the process. However, his contract will expire in June 2026, so he should be available for an affordable fee.
