Lazio have been issued with a fine and the Curva Nord sections 48 and 49 of the Stadio Olimpico will be have to be closed for the club’s next Europa League home match after reports of racist behaviour during the recent 4-1 victory over OGC Nice in Europe.
The Biancocelesti have been issued with a fine of €45,000 and will have to close two sections of the Stadio Olimpico as a result of UEFA’s retributions.
A large chunk of the Curva Nord, directly behind the goal, will also have to be closed for the upcoming visit from Porto in the Europa League on November 7.
Lazio will face Twente away in the Europa League before then, but UEFA did not decide to punish away supporters for that match.
Lazio are not the only side who have been punished by Europe’s governing body, as Atletico Madrid have also been hit with a €30,000 fine and a one-year suspended ban for selling tickets for away games.
Anderlecht, meanwhile, have been banned from selling away tickets to its supporters ahead of their trip to FK RFS at the beginning of November.
