In taking to the pitch against Parma at San Siro, Lautaro Martinez already played his 300th match for Inter. However, his 299th appearance will only be counted once the postponed match against Fiorentina (with no rescheduled date yet) has been played in full. Therefore, he officially reached this milestone with his appearance against Bayer Leverkusen tonight.
300 matches in an Inter shirt: a testament to Lautaro Martinez’s extraordinary journey with the Nerazzurri. In 2024 alone, the Argentine striker won the Supercoppa Italiana, lifted the Serie A trophy worth a Second Star as captain - also finishing as the league’s top scorer - and signed a contract extension with the Club until 2029. At international level, too, he’s enjoyed tremendous success this year, scoring the winning goal in the final of the Copa América, where he was the top scorer in the tournament, and equalling Maradona’s goal tally for Argentina.
Lautaro has made it to 300 Inter appearances in his seventh season in our colours. Born in Bahia Blanca on 22 August 1997, the Nerazzurri captain started his football career at Liniers before joining Racing in 2014 and then Inter ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
In his first season, he scored nine goals in 35 appearances. In his second year, he found the net 21 times and was a key figure in the Nerazzurri’s run to the Europa League final. In 2020/21, he won his first major title: Inter’s 19th Scudetto, to which he made a major contribution with a 17-goal haul. His growth has been continuous: in his fourth year at Inter, he made 49 appearances and scored 25 crucial goals as the Nerazzurri won the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana.
2022/23 finished with two more trophies, several important goals and the achievement of reaching the Champions League final in Istanbul. Always ready to fight, to defend the group, the team and his teammates, Lautaro is someone with a real leadership mentality and a fantastic work ethic. During the season that saw Inter clinch a historic Second Star, he wrote an important chapter in Nerazzurri history, breaking into the Club’s top ten all-time top scorers list. With 135 goals to his name, he now sits seventh in this special ranking.
Since joining Inter, El Toro has won two Scudetto titles, the Coppa twice, as well as the Supercoppa Italiana on three occasions. He continues to leave his mark on the history of our Club, for whom he’s played 300 times.
