Lamine Yamal has promised the Barcelona fans a future Champions League success after the club’s dramatic semi-final exit.

Barcelona lost to Inter Milan in a classic Champions League semi-final tie, as Davide Frattesi’s extra-time goal earned the Italian champions a 7-6 aggregate win.

The Spanish side had led on aggregate with just two minutes of stoppage time remaining, before Francesco Acerbi’s equaliser at the San Siro forced extra time.

Defeat ends Barcelona’s dream of winning a treble this season, as the club’s wait for Champions League success goes on. The five-time winners have not won the Champions League – or reached the competition’s final – for a decade.

Yamal expressed his disappointment at the club’s defeat to Inter, but promised Barcelona will bounce back and deliver another European crown to the fans.

“We gave it our all — this year it couldn’t be, but we’ll be back, have no doubt about it.

“Culers, we won’t stop until we put this club where it belongs: at the very top. I will keep my promise and bring it to Barcelona; we won’t stop until we achieve it.

“But Sunday is another final, and we all need to be together. Visca el Barça!”.

Centre-back Ronald Araujo backed Yamal’s claims and believes a talented young side can deliver in Europe in the coming seasons.

“This Barça team will surely be able to win many Champions League titles in the upcoming years with this excellent group of youngsters,” the defender said.
