Barcelona have struck the first blow in their El ClĂĄsico Copa del Rey final against bitter rivals Real Madrid.
Across the opening 45 minutes of action at Estadio La Cartuja in Sevilla, Barça have been on the front foot throughout, justifiably opening the scoring in the 28th minute through Pedri.
The Spanish midfielder did exceptionally well to dispatch a curling effort from beyond 20 yards to beat Thibaut Courtois after being picked out at the top of the box from a cut-back pass by Lamine Yamal, giving Barcelona a deserved lead at the break.
With that assist, the Spanish starlet climbed to 33 goals and assists across the 2024/25 season in all competitions, equalling rival VinĂcius JĂșnior in the process.
As Carlo Ancelotti's Los Blancos struggle to come to grips with proceedings on the night Yamal and Barça look destined for silverware come the full-time whistle.
