What should have been a night where the Los Angeles Galaxy were to play their 25th MLS regular season game, Major League Soccer stepped in and said that the heat was too much to bare for the players.

Ruling on the side of player safety, MLS is rescheduling the LA Galaxy vs. Houston Dynamo game to later date. The last two times that the LA Galaxy played Houston, it resulted in a 1-1 draw.

It also happened to be Diego Fagundez's 400th career MLS game. The veteran midfielder managed to net his 150th career goal that game. It proved crucial, as it prevented the LA Galaxy from losing in April.

The Los Angeles Galaxy still hold a slight lead all-time against the Dynamo. With two more wins in the head-to-head series, the six-time MLS Cup winners are 17-12-15 against the Houston Dynamo.

Even with Friday night's game being called off, the LA Galaxy still have an intense schedule ahead between now and Labor Day weekend. They will play at least seven times (three League Cup matches) through August 31.

What's next for the LA Galaxy?

The reigning MLS Cup champions won't play their next regular-season game until August 10, when they host the Seattle Sounders. That doesn't mean the LA Galaxy won't be playing until then.

Next Thursday, the LA Galaxy will host Tijuana for their first game in the 2025 League Cup. Tijuana is currently 6th in the Mexican Liga BBVA MX. The match will be played at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

Kickoff is at 8:00 p.m. (PT) and 10:00 p.m. (CT) on Thursday, July 31. The LA Galaxy still sit at 3-7-14 and in last place of the MLS Western Conference standings.
