The first season without Kylian Mbappé has been a success for PSG, with the capital club thriving after the star forward joined Real Madrid. One former teammate of the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner recently explained why the Ligue 1 side have continued to find success without him.
PSG have already secured the league title and are now chasing a treble. They’ll face Stade de Reims in the Coupe de France final and Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League final.
If the Parisians pull off the treble, many will ask how come this squad got better with their all-time leading goal scorer leaving. Former PSG captain and defender Thiago Silva commented on why the French side have improved.

During an interview with Carré, Silva explained what he’s seen from PSG this season and what has led to this success in the post-Mbappé era.
“PSG? When you look at the team, you don’t see just one player making the difference,” Silva explained (h/t Le10Sport). “Of course, there’s [Ousmane] Dembélé, but I mean that behind him, the team is really solid! A great goalkeeper, fullbacks who charge forward like crazy, wingers… It’s not just one or two players, it’s a real team. And that makes me happy, because building a real team isn’t easy. They’re on the right path.”
