Maik Nawrocki is set to be heading out the Celtic Park exit door with a proposed loan deal to Bundesliga 2 side Hannover 96 imminent, with Sky Sports today reporting that the deal has been done.
This news comes just days after the announcement that Gustaf Lagerbielke will be leaving the club on a more permanent basis as he prepares to sign on the dotted line for Portuguese side Braga.

Ironically both Lagerbielke and Nawrocki were signed under Brendan Rodgers two years ago alongside the likes of Kwon, who is currently in limbo whilst the likes of Luis Palma and young Odin Thiago Holm also Brendan’s ‘signings’ are also looking very much surplus to requirements.

The same could be said of Marco Tilio who is due to return to the club, but his signing was most likely rubber stamped under the management of Ange Postecoglou. Is it just a coincidence that all these players signed under Brendan’s stewardship are ones that he’s completely written off?
No it’s not, and I think we can all come to the conclusion that they weren’t signings sanctioned by the Irishman. Brendan came in at the end of June and these signing were all in the pipeline in a window where Celtic were unusually fast out of the traps.

Ange Postecoglou left at the start of the month, just after completing a treble with a routine Scottish Cup final win over Inverness Caley Thistle at Hampden. He obviously knew he was leaving well in advance so the signing talks might have been something he detached himself from more than would have been the case previously.
He was probably more concerned with possible Spurs signing rather than what Celtic were looking at doing in that window.

This summer Brendan Rodgers is very much in control and needs to be backed by the club, especially with Nicolas Kuhn about to be sold for just over £17m. That money must be re-invested in the team.
Let’s hope like last summer, Brendan’s given free rein to sign who he wants without any meddling from above.
