Kieran Tierney is on the brink of agreeing a pre-contract agreement with Celtic. The Arsenal defender has been surrounded by speculation this month as the Parkhead side made it known they wanted to bring him back to Paradise for a second spell…

Although manager Brendan Rodgers has refused to comment on it as Tierney is contracted to another club, it’s a case of waiting to see the white smoke at this point. The left-back was integral to Rodgers’ first tenure as Celtic boss and the left-hand side of the team was never the same when the Scotland international parted ways in a £25 million deal that took him to the Emirates in 2019.

Greg Taylor situation remains unresolved

With uncertainty around the future of Greg Taylor too, the club have been on the hunt for a full-back of the highest quality as we try to maintain our grip on Scottish football and make inroads in European football too. According to The Telegraph, it is extremely close to being all agreed for the native to return home and a pre-contract announcement should be imminent.

Tierney’s not short of offers

The report also states that the Bhoys have beaten off pretty stiff opposition to secure the return of our former 63. Bayer Leverkusen, Sevilla and Juventus have all been credited with an interest in the 27-year-old, whilst it mentions that fellow Scot, Davie Moyes – formerly of Celtic too – was in the mix to bring him to Goodison and keep him down south in the English Premier League.

That looks to be over with now and the Hoops have won the race and appear to have sealed the deal on a pre-contract agreement with the player and his agents. All that remains now is an official announcement regarding the deal and if The Telegraph are to be believed, it could be sooner, rather than later.  After securing our place in the Champions League knockouts with a 1-0 win last night, this news really would be the cherry on top!
