Manchester City forward Kerolin struck a sublime hat-trick in Brazil’s emphatic 6-0 win over Bolivia at the 2025 Copa America.
In what was her first appearance at this summer’s major tournament, she led the line for her country and played the full 90 minutes at Estadio Gonzalo Pozo Ripalda.
The reigning Copa America champions started the encounter brightly and opened the scoring in the 13th minute when they played a corner short and worked the ball to Luany who fired into the roof of the net from close range.
Then, Kerolin started to stamp her authority on proceedings when coming close with a sublime chip which struck the post.
Brazil’s second did eventually arrive in the 32nd minute though when City’s attacker played an inch-perfect pass to Fatima who forced a good save from Erika Sanchez before Luany tucked home into an empty net.
The scorer of Arthur Elias’ team’s two goals continued to cause problems and was brought down inside the area before half-time – resulting in a penalty.
Kerolin then stepped up and coolly dispatched to score her first at the 2025 Copa America.
Following the interval Brazil looked content to protect their lead while Bolivia maintained a rigid defensive line which meant chances were few and far between.
However, Kerolin extended her nation’s advantage with just over 10 minutes remaining when collecting the ball inside the area, composing herself, and curling into the near left post.
With a hat-trick in her sight she continued to collect the ball and her treble arrived shortly after when she sent a dipping volley past Sanchez from the edge of the area – which means she’s now the competition’s joint top goalscorer with Paraguay’s Claudio Martinez.
Despite Brazil’s five-goal lead, the drama continued to unfold in the closing stages with Bolivia’s Angelina Rivero being sent off and Amanda Gutierres scoring a sixth for Elias’ side before full-time.
The result means Kerolin and Co. have won their opening two matches at the tournament and currently sit at Group B’s summit ahead of their meeting with Paraguay on 22 July.
