Arsenal have announced the signing of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea.
The 30-year-old has agreed to a three-year contract with the Gunners, stepping in as backup to David Raya following the conclusion of Neto's loan spell.
This move concludes Kepa's seven-year tenure at Stamford Bridge, where he secured multiple titles, including the Champions League, Europa League, and Club World Cup. He initially joined Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao for a then-record £71.8 million, a fee that remains unsurpassed for a goalkeeper.
In recent seasons, the Spaniard has spent time on loan at Real Madrid and AFC Bournemouth. During his stint with the Cherries, he made 35 Premier League appearances, keeping eight clean sheets.
Speaking to the club's media team Kepa said: “I'm really, really happy to be here, really excited and looking forward to what is coming.
“The ambition that is shown in this club, when I talk with Mikel [Arteta] and Inaki [Cana], how much they show me their desire to win… I think we are so close to winning and, hopefully, altogether, we can achieve it.”
Kepa becomes Arsenal's first confirmed signing of the summer, with the club also in advanced talks to bring in midfielder Martin Zubimendi and Brentford captain Christian Norgaard.
Additionally, manager Mikel Arteta is keen to bolster the attacking options, with Benjamin Sesko Viktor Gyökeres among the potential targets.
