Chelsea are very close to reaching an agreement on personal terms with Xavi Simons, but Bayern keep calling according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues have been busy this summer and have already made three attacking signings in Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens.
Chelsea have never ruled out the possibility of signing another attacker, and have identified RB Leipzig’s Simons as a player they want.
The Blues reportedly want as many as eight or nine attacking options in their squad to rotate between next season.
Noni Madueke has joined Arsenal, whilst the expectation is Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix will both move on as well.
Chelsea were linked with Mohammed Kudus and Hugo Ekitike before they joined Tottenham and Liverpool respectively, but are now trying to close a deal for Simons.

Simons wants to join Chelsea, and his preference is thought to be a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal also interested.
Leipzig reportedly want around €65m for Simons, and Romano has now provided an update on the situation as Chelsea look to close a deal.
“Chelsea have pushed, and will be pushing to work the deal for Xavi Simons,” he told his YouTube channel.
“Agreement on personal terms is very close. Bayern keep calling and Arsenal are informed.”

Simons would be a great fit for Enzo Maresca’s system given he can play both on the left and as a number ten, and the 22-year-old scored 11 goals and registered eight assists in 33 appearances last season.
Simons isn’t the only player Chelsea are closing in on, and a deal for Ajax teenager Jorrel Hato is also advancing quickly.
Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Hato, and the 19-year-old is believed to have informed Ajax he wants to leave.
The Blues are hoping they can do a deal for around £34m, and are said to be using the price Arsenal paid for Jurrien Timber as a benchmark.
