Juventus to reject Aston Villa swoop for Cambiaso | OneFootball

According to Sportitalia, Juventus are prepared to reject a €40m offer for left-back Andrea Cambiaso from Aston Villa and instead tie him to a new contract.

Transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà maintains that there is a €40m proposal on its way from the Premier League and all signs point to it being Aston Villa.

They need reinforcements after qualifying for the Champions League and their director of sport Monchi, formerly of Roma and Sevilla, is known to admire the player.

The 24-year-old plays primarily as a left-back, but can also work in a more advanced role or occasionally on the right, which is where he played in last night’s thrilling 3-3 draw against Bologna.

Cambiaso investment for Juventus

Cambiaso was purchased from Genoa in 2022 for €13.3m and spent last season on loan at Bologna before returning to Turin.

He flourished with three goals and six assists in 39 competitive games this term, helping to win the Coppa Italia trophy.

Despite the interest from Aston Villa, Sportitalia insist that Juventus are prepared to reject the €40m offer and instead negotiate a new and improved contract.

His current deal runs to June 2027, but Cambiaso only earns €1m plus bonuses per season and that will be doubled going forward.
