Serie A giants Juventus are all butt set to seal a move for Chelsea’s Renato Veiga, who will be their third signing of the summer.
Talks have been going on with Chelsea for some days and La Stampa (via TMW) have reported that in the last few hours, Juve have overcome competition from Lazio to win the battle for the Portuguese.
They put intense pressure on the intermediaries of the operation to complete the deal, which is pretty much done. Juve’s decision to raise the offer to €5 million was key, having previously agreed personal terms with Veiga.
The white smoke in the deal is expected today, with the last few details now being finalised. The €5 million loan fee also includes the player’s salary, with the defender set to return to Chelsea before the start of the Club World Cup, so that the Blues can use him during the tournament.
In the meantime, Chelsea have made another enquiry for Douglas Luiz and it remains to be seen if anything progresses on that front.
