La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Juventus are determined to offer Douglas Luiz to Newcastle in a player-plus-cash swap deal for Sandro Tonali, with the two clubs reportedly on good terms following the Lloyd Kelly deal in January.

Juventus continued monitoring Italy midfielder Tonali, but are aware that Newcastle will demand at least €60m-70m for their midfielder next summer.

According to Gazzetta, Juventus want to lower the Magpies’ asking price by including Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz in a player-plus-cash swap deal.

Douglas Luiz, a former Aston Villa midfielder, has been struggling with injuries in the current campaign but was among the best Premier League players only a year ago, grabbing ten goals and ten assists with Aston Villa in 2023-24.

Gazzetta notes that the directors of Juventus and Newcastle are already on good terms following Kelly’s move to the Allianz Stadium in the January window.

However, negotiations between the two clubs for Tonali haven’t yet begun, but Gazzetta suggests other Juventus players could be of interest for Newcastle.

Federico Gatti is among those, as the Premier League side already made an offer for the Italian defender last summer.

At the same time, Dusan Vlahovic could be offered to Newcastle as a possible replacement for Alexander Isak, who may leave St. James’ Park next summer.
