Just in: Real Madrid megastar close to agreeing one-year contract renewal | OneFootball

With the season in its final phase, Real Madrid are already taking care of business for the next campaign in terms of transfers and contract renewals.

The signing of Kylian Mbappe is already sewn up and Los Blancos have made significant progress in renewals for players like Lucas Vazquez and Andriy Lunin.

Now, there is also good news with regard to the futures of two of the most important players in the team in the form of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.

Modric, who looked like a possible candidate to leave in the summer when his contract expired, has now reached an agreement in principle to continue at the club.

And, MARCA reports that Toni Kroos has also been sent a renewal offer by the club which he is very close to accepting and staying at Real Madrid for one more year.

A couple of months ago, it was already reported that the German international would renew with Los Merengues and stay on for another season.

However, there were fears in recent weeks that Kroos, who continues to be one of Carlo Ancelotti’s most important players, might decide to hang up his boots, given how he has always stressed that he wants to call it time when on top.

But, it appears that Florentino Perez has intervened in the matter of both Kroos and Modric’s renewals and it has bore fruit.

Kroos is understood to be close to saying yes to the offer tabled by Real Madrid, thus extending his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu for one more season.
