Ivan Juric confirms ‘some adjustments’ as Roma host Dynamo Kyiv in the Europa League and reiterates they need to find ‘that determination that can help you win matches.’

It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico at 17.45 UK time (16.45 GMT).

This is a must-win match for the Giallorossi, who scraped one point from two Europa League fixtures against Athletic Club and Elfsborg, then lost in Serie A to Inter at the weekend.

Alexis Saelemaekers and Stephan El Shaarawy are injured, but Gianluca Mancini and Matias Soulé are not even on the bench this evening after coming down with flu symptoms.

“Since I arrived, the team has put in good performances. There have to be some adjustments, we will improve. The only thing I didn’t like is that we often dominated and then gifted equalisers, as that happened against Monza and Athletic Club,” Juric told Sky Sport Italia.

“We have a lot of possession, but we have to improve making the most of those enormous spaces in the final third. We also need that determination that is hard to define, but that attitude can make the difference and help you to win matches.”

There was a great deal of controversy in the media around Roma’s defeat to Inter, because Juric was accused of making Paulo Dybala track back too much and therefore used up the energy he could’ve used to be effective in attack.

Has Juric learned from that or will Dybala still be asked to cover defensive duties?

“Everyone complains that abroad the players run and work like crazy, whereas in Italy when we try to make players do the same, they say we are tiring them out.”

Nicolo’ Pisilli confirmed he is starting “in a slightly more advanced role” alongside Tommaso Baldanzi in support of Artem Dovbyk.
