Chelsea are aiming to sign not one but two new centre backs this coming summer transfer window with two names reported.

The news comes off the back of Chelsea getting an essential three points on Saturday afternoon by beating Everton 1-0 at home after a fantastic first half goal from striker Nicolas Jackson ending his 2025 goal draught.

It was far from an easy game for Chelsea though, and goalkeeper Robert Sanchez became the unlikely hero and was actually the reason that they could see the win out and collect all three points, making some big second half saves to deny certain goals.

Another one of Chelsea’s best players on the pitch was defender Trevoh Chalobah and really, he was a strong candidate for man of the match too. Enzo Maresca defended Chelsea’s decision to let him go on loan in the summer after then recalling him in the winter.

The club are going to be busy in the summer transfer market once again and we have been hearing about a host of new positions they are looking to sign in, including a new centre back. But could they actually sign two new centre backs?

Blues in for Huijsen AND Guehi

According to journalist Rudy Galetti writing for TEAMtalk this week, Chelsea are aiming to sign Dean Huijsen and Marc Guehi in the summer transfer window.

Chelsea plan to sign two new centre-backs ahead of next season, and among the most appreciated profiles are Huijsen and Guehi, per the report.

It also goes on to mention some competition for Huijsen as well, in particular from Liverpool, so it’s not going to be an easy race to win for The Blues.
