After beating Chelsea 1-0 to advance to the final of the FA Cup, Manchester City will return to the Premier League this week. They will face Brighton in an away fixture on Thursday night. It will be a crucial game for them as they continue to lead to the title race.

The Citizens are third in the points table with 73 points after 32 games. However, they have a game advantage and go on to lift their record fourth consecutive league title if they win all of their remaining games. Hence, Pep Guardiola’s men will look to give their everything on the field.

Defence

Ederson is likely to return between the sticks in place of Stefan Ortega. On the right back-full position, Kyle Walker could be starting his third consecutive game after coming back from the injury.

While John Stones continues to form the heart of the defence, Manuel Akanji should make way for Ruben Dias. Josko Gvardiol is also in line to walk into the XI and replace Nathan Ake as the left-back.

Midfield

Expect Mateo Kovacic to be called up to form the holding midfield duo with Rodri. Bernardo Silva is likely to get the much-needed rest. He revealed that he felt the left hamstring and right calf after the game against Chelsea.

While Phil Foden operates on the right wing, Kevin De Bruyne should be deployed in the middle. On the left flank, Jeremy Doku is likely to get the nod ahead of Jack Grealish. The former winger has been instrumental as a super sub in changing the dynamics of the game with his speed and dribbling skills.

Attack

Erling Haaland is carrying a niggle and missed the previous game. If he fails to regain full fitness, Julian Alvarez will continue leading the attacking line for the Citizens.
