Manchester United kicked off their summer business with the signing of striker Joshua Zirkzee and the Dutchman has wasted no time getting to know his new fans.

United’s transfer activity is expected to ramp up in the coming weeks and Zirkzee was quizzed by a young supporter on a dream new addition.

The 23-year-old was signing a shirt for a fan who asked the striker about the chances of Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala joining the club – a player Zirzkee has recently been spotted on holiday with.

In a video emerged on social media the young girl can be heard saying “can you tell Musiala to join United?’

Zirkzee unfortunately poured cold water on the fans hopes, replying “I’ve tried, I’ve tried”.

United’s new man played with Musiala during his spell at Bayern where the pair come through the ranks at the Allianz Arena.

Musiala has since emerged as one of the finest young talents in Europe and would be an impressive coup for anyone who could tempt him out of Munich.

It would take a monstrous fee to prize the 21-year-old away from Vincent Kompany’s side and United aren’t in a position to make that sort of bid this summer.

Musiala-type additions feel a long way off but Zirkzee and his new teammates will be desperate to fire United back to the top of English football over the next few years, with INEOS leading the club into a new era.

Zirkzee has recently reported back to Carrington after his participation in the European Championships but will not be joining the pre-season Tour of the U.S.

The young striker could make his debut for United in the Community Shield against Manchester City on August 10.
