According to Italian publication Il Romanista, former Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho wants to sign Brazilian striker Richarlison.
Richarlison’s debut season with Tottenham has been met with mixed reviews since his high-profile move from Everton last summer. While the Brazilian has shown glimpses of his potential, he has struggled to consistently make an impact on the pitch.
With just one Premier League goal and three goals across all competitions, it’s fair to say that the 24-year-old has yet to set the league alight. However, we all know what the talented striker is capable of.

One of the primary reasons behind Richarlison‘s struggles has been his difficulty in securing a regular spot in the starting lineup. With the likes of Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski, and the talismanic Harry Kane ahead of him in the pecking order, opportunities have been limited for the Brazilian.
However, it is worth noting that injuries have also hampered his progress this season. Given Richarlison’s underwhelming performances and the team’s overall lackluster displays, it comes as no surprise that rumours have begun circulating about a potential departure.
A touted loan move to AS Roma with an obligation-to-buy clause could be an attractive option for both parties. Such a move would provide Richarlison with a chance to rediscover his best form.

This news comes on the back of reports last week that Tottenham are open to offers for the Brazilian forward, with Real Madrid and Inter Milan reportedly showing interest. With AS Roma now in the mix as well, it remains to be seen where Richarlison ends up.
The decision regarding Richarlison’s future will also be intertwined with who Tottenham appoint as their new manager. It remains to be seen whether Richarlison will be a part of the new manager’s plans or if the club will entertain offers for his services.
Letting Richarlison leave so soon after signing him might not be such a good thing after all. Only time will tell if the club decides to keep the former Evertonian at the club going forward. Let’s see.
