2025 often sees people look for change when thinking up their New Year's resolutions. But for Jose Mourinho, it's seemingly business as usual after another extraordinary press conference saw him label the Turkish Super Lig "toxic" and accuse the media of ignoring the problem.
You wouldn't know that Mourinho's Fenerbahce actually emerged as 2-1 winners against Hatayspor on Sunday, keeping them eight points behind runaway table toppers, and bitter rivals, Galatasaray.
Mourinho, well known for speaking about football heritage, blasted the officials for their performance in the match, seemingly exasperated by the lack of decisions that went in favour of his team.
It wasn't just the referee who was on the end of Mourinho's latest tongue lashing, with the assembled press also in the firing line as the former Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid boss unloaded.
"We played well. We dominated the match," he said. "We created clear positions. We couldn't pass the ball in positions we called half-chances. Their goalkeeper was great. We lost the ball in the goals we missed. It's strange that this match ended 2-1. This match could have been 6-7-8. I'm happy with the game but not because of the opportunities we missed.

"My players did their best. We worked hard for nine days. We achieved a clear victory. If the opponent's colours were different, they could have been down to eight players. We know the 'toxic' league we play in. They know how to play against us, how to play against the opponent. There should have been five reds in Eyup and this match. This is the situation. Our players and our opponents know this. We have to continue on our way.
"Why are you [the Turkish media] hiding the truth? What are people afraid of in this country? What are you afraid of? I know you are a journalist, I could be a journalist too, okay, but what are you afraid of? Is the point difference due to the football played? Speak the truth. Don't ask me!"
Mourinho had vented recently about the quality of officiating in Turkey, saying he wouldn't have accepted the Fenerbahce job had he known what was in store.
"I know what I was told even before I came, I didn't believe," he proclaimed. "It's even worse than I was told, even worse. We are not going to give up, we know what we have, I blame the Fenerbahce people that brought me here, they told me only half of the truth, they didn't tell me the whole truth. If they told me the whole truth, I wouldn't come."
