Jorgingho Last Month, Now Flamengo Prepare Loan Offer for Another Arsenal Star

Flamengo are preparing a move for Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus, with reports in Brazil suggesting talks have already begun. The 27-year-old striker is currently sidelined with a long-term injury and may struggle to find space in the squad once he returns.

Arsenal have strengthened significantly in attack this summer, adding Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyökeres to the front line, and further signings are expected. As the Gunners build a deeper attacking unit, Gabriel Jesus could be pushed down the pecking order.

Flamengo pushing for deal with salary split option

According to a report by RTI Esporte, Flamengo are advancing in negotiations for Jesus and are preparing a formal offer. The Brazilian international has reportedly given the green light for talks to proceed, with a season-long loan and option to buy in June 2026 on the table.

Flamengo are also said to be proposing a salary split with Arsenal, covering half of Jesus’ wages over the course of the loan. They view the forward as a key addition to strengthen their squad during a demanding domestic and continental schedule.

From the player’s side, regular game time is a priority as he looks to secure a place in Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad for the 2026 World Cup in the United States.

Arsenal’s Jorginho recently moved to the Brazailian side on a free transfer, joining the club before the Club World Cup.

Jesus still recovering from long-term ACL injury

Jesus has been out of action since suffering an ACL injury in the FA Cup third-round tie against Manchester United in January. While his recovery is progressing well, a return to the pitch is not expected imminently.

Signed in summer 2022, Gabriel Jesus has made 96 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 26 goals. Whether or not he has played his final game for the Gunners remains to be seen.
