Jonathan Clauss’ future at OGC Nice has been thrown into doubt, with the France international attracting strong interest in the final weeks of the transfer window, according to Foot Mercato.
The 32-year-old full-back was a key figure in Nice’s Ligue 1 campaign last season, registering 3 goals and 10 assists from the right flank. However, despite being under contract with Les Aiglons until June 2026, an unnamed club is now pushing hard to secure his signature before the market closes.
Clauss, who has earned 14 caps and scored twice for Les Bleus, only joined Nice last summer after leaving Olympique de Marseille. The Frenchman was reunited with Franck Haise, who he played under previously at Racing Club de Lens where the Sang & Or made a second-placed finish in Ligue 1 and qualified for the UEFA Champions League. Clauss then joined Olympique de Marseille in the 2023-2024 season, and despite a season of instability with three different managers – reached the UEFA Europa League semi-finals. GFFN | George Boxall
