A first senior hat-trick from Jarrod Bowen saw West Ham beat Brentford in the Premier League for the first time.
Scorers: Bowen 5', 7', 63', Emerson 69'; Maupay 13', Wissa 82'
With a barren start to 2024, David Moyes' side needed a bright start and they got exactly that.
Bowen gave the hosts an early lead volleying home at Mark Flekken's near post in the fifth minute.
He stunned the Bees by doubling the Hammers' advantage just two minutes later, finishing off a lovely counterattacking move.
Bowen's quickfire brace forced their London counterparts to rally with Neal Maupay reducing the deficit with a fine finish into the top-right corner.
After a mini resurgence by the visitors in the second half, West Ham struck a killer blow with Bowen completing from a cross by Mohammed Kudus.
Emerson then added a spectacular fourth for the Hammers as he sent a rocket of a shot from outside of the box for his first goal of the season.
Yoane Wissa grabbed a consolation goal with eight minutes of normal time remaining, cutting in on his right and curling a dipped shot past Alphonse Areola.
The first win of 2024 for West Ham sees Moyes' side move up to eighth in the table whereas Brentford remains 16th, with just one win in their last six games.
