James Milner is set to play in his 24th season of first team football after signing a one-year extension with Brighton & Hove Albion.
The veteran midfielder, who will turn 40 midway through the 2025/26 campaign, has penned a new deal with the Seagulls to continue his storied career.
Milner played just four games for Fabian Hürzeler's side last season but the German manager was happy to see the experienced Milner sign on for another campaign.
"I’m really pleased we will have James with us again this season," the Brighton boss said. "Last season he wasn’t able to help the team on the pitch as much as he would have liked, but around the squad his experience is invaluable, especially for the younger players.
"He’s a great guy to have in our environment, who is always there for me and the team. I’m looking forward to working with him again."
Only Gareth Barry has made more total appearances in the Premier League (653) than Milner (638) so far, but the upcoming campaign could allow the former Manchester City and Liverpool man to at least close the gap.
