Ivan Juric’s first day in Trigoria immediately showed the decisive imprint of the new Roma coach.
Technique, speed and muscle strengthening were at the center of the first session, which lasted an hour and a half between the field and the gym.
The Croatian coach, known for his demanding and direct style, reiterated his key concepts during a speech to the team, immediately followed by intense training.
After training, La Gazzetta dello Sport writes that Juric wanted to continue creating a bond with his players by organizing a dinner with the whole team at Trigoria.
Among the main protagonists of the new course are Mats Hummels and Mario Hermoso, who will alternate as central leaders in the three-man defense, the fulcrum of the coach’s tactical system.
In midfield, the focus will be on Manu Koné, a versatile player who perfectly embodies Juric’s philosophy of physical strength and technical quality.
For the offensive area, starting from the next match, Juric could focus on Paulo Dybala and Lorenzo Pellegrini in the attacking midfield.
The Giallorossi captain trained separately, but seems capable of recovering for Sunday’s match.
