Scott McTominay looked at his scintillating best once again despite Napoli’s 2-2 draw against Genoa—a result that crucially allowed Inter to close the gap to the Serie A leaders to just one point with two games remaining.

The Scotland international delivered another standout performance at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, providing the assists for both of Napoli’s goals.

The 28-year-old first set up Romelu Lukaku with a perfectly timed vertical pass to open the scoring in the first half.

After Genoa’s equaliser, McTominay helped restore his side’s momentum with another precise delivery, this time for Giacomo Raspadori, who smashed home to give Napoli the lead once more.

Although Johan Vasquez’s late goal ultimately denied Napoli all three points, the Italian press unanimously considered the former Manchester United midfielder one of the top performers on the pitch.

La Gazzetta dello Sport gave McTominay a 7/10, noting his involvement in both goals and calling him ‘the last to give up’.

Tuttosport also awarded a 7/10, describing him as ‘always at the top’ and highlighting his attempted overhead kick that went wide and forced a save from Siegrist in the second half.

Corriere dello Sport echoed the praise, citing his ‘flashes of brilliance’ and suggesting that Lukaku and Raspadori ‘should be grateful’: “Yet another version of Scott, who once again is the last to give in.”
