Italian agent Dario Canovi feels that current Bologna coach Thiago Motta has everything that it takes to join a top club like Inter.

Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, the agent praised the 40-year-old coach and suggested that it wouldn’t be at all far-fetched for him to join his former club the Nerazzurri at the end of the season if Simone Inzaghi were to be gone.

Motta’s rise as a coach has been a rapid one.

After the former Italian international retired from playing at Paris Saint-Germain, he took over the French club’s under-19 side as a coach, and then tried his hand at senior management back in charge of another of his former clubs, Genoa.

Motta’s spell in charge of the Grifone only lasted for ten matches, but he got more experience in Serie A last season coaching Genoa’s Ligurian rivals Spezia, where he was at the helm for a full season.

The former Inter midfielder took over from Sinisa Mihajlovic at earlier this season, and he has impressed with the job that he has done in Emilia-Romagna, including an impressive win over Inter on Sunday afternoon.

“He has the necessary qualities to be a top coach,” Canovi said of Motta, “he was the most intelligent player I ever witnessed.”

“And like all intelligent people, he’s humble and full of doubts, which is why he knows how to change up his approach,” the agent continued.

“The only certainty that he has in football is that hard work pays off.”

Canovi argued of Motta thtat “He wouldn’t have problems managing top players, because they’re usually intelligent.”

“Right now he wouldn’t join Inter because Inzaghi is their coach, but in six months who knows?” the agent continued.
