According to Sky Sports (11.34), the Tractor Boys have no intention of cashing in on the defender before the 1 September deadline.

Davis has been a key figure for the Suffolk outfit under Kieran McKenna, featuring 120 times in the league since joining from Leeds United in the 2022 summer transfer window.

The full-back made 33 appearances in the Premier League last season, contributing one goal and two assists.

Ipswich have reportedly received multiple offers for Davis since suffering relegation from the Premier League, but they have fallen on deaf ears.

It has been claimed that the Suffolk outfit are keen to keep the 25-year-old, as McKenna eyes promotion back to the top flight at the first attempt.

Davis has a contract with Ipswich until the summer of 2028, having signed his most recent extension in October 2024.

It was reported back in May that Nottingham Forest were one of the clubs interested in signing Davis, with the City Ground outfit since following up their interest by preparing a bid, as per more recent reports.

However, it’s understood that the Championship side are now not considering a sale, with just a few weeks remaining in the window.

It remains to be seen what other clubs are interested in signing the player, who looks set to stay at Portman Road beyond 1 September.

Ipswich Town's 1-1 Birmingham draw

Davis featured for McKenna’s side in their opening game of the new campaign on Friday night, playing all 90 minutes in their 1-1 draw with Birmingham City.

A 95th minute George Hirst penalty secured a point away to the Blues, having initially gone behind from a Jay Stansfield strike early in the second half.

Next up for Ipswich in the league is a home clash against Southampton on 17 August.

Keeping Leif Davis will be good business for Ipswich Town

Davis was a standout player when Ipswich were promoted to the Premier League last year, contributing an impressive 18 assists from 43 appearances.

While the Tractor Boys were ultimately relegated, the defender showed he’s capable of competing at a top flight level last season.

It’s no surprise that their relegation led to transfer interest this summer, but keeping him will be good business for Ipswich and would represent an undoubted statement of intent, having sold star striker Liam Delap to Chelsea.

There’s no doubt the club could earn a good fee if they sold him now, but he could prove even more valuable to the team if he plays a key role in helping them gain promotion again this campaign.
