Newly-promoted Ipswich Town have continued their summer spending spree by signing Burnley goalkeeper Arijanet Muric in a deal reportedly worth £8m, which could rise to £10m with add-ons.

The 25-year-old Kosovo international has signed a four-year contract at Portman Road.

“I’m excited to have joined the Club and am looking forward to getting started,” Muric told the club's official website.

“I watched how the team played last season and feel the style will suit me very well, so this is the perfect move for me.

“I have had good conversations with the Manager and Rene (Gilmartin, Head of Goalkeeping) and believe this is the right place for me to be as the Club moves into the Premier League.

The shot-stopper was second-choice behind James Trafford at Burnley for much of the season, but played the final ten games and impressed despite an unfortunate own goal.

Muric will replace Vaclav Hladky, who was Ipswich's no.1 in the Championship but could not agree a new contract in East Anglia and left as a free agent at the end of the season.

Ipswich have already signed Jacob Greaves, Ben Johnson, Omari Hutchinson and Liam Delap this summer as they prepare for their first season back in the Premier League since 2002.
